What Is ALPR and ID Recognition?
Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) is a computer-vision technology that detects and reads vehicle license plates in real time from images or video streams. At AISDC we combine ALPR with OCR for official ID documents —INE voter card, passport, driver's license— to deliver a unified vehicle and identity reading pipeline. Our models are trained on real-world data captured across Mexico, making them particularly effective for Mexican license-plate formats and Mexican ID recognition. All processing can run on-device at the edge or in the cloud, depending on connectivity requirements and data-privacy constraints. The result is a single integration point that handles both license-plate OCR and identity verification for access control, onboarding, and fleet management use cases.
